In the present scenario of the technological age, it’s a great pleasure to announce that the Midnapore Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union Ltd i e MIMUL is launching its website. Since 1977, MIMUL- the Midnapore Milk Union has given a true and sustainable direction towards socio-economic development in the rural life of the dairy farmers in erstwhile Midnapore District by uniting unorganized milk producers in the organized Anand pattern three tier cooperative structure.
In spite of many challenges and inequities related to animal husbandry support and trust, Paschim Medinipur district has witnessed a substantial growth in milk production and MIMUL has been playing a significant role in socio economic development in the district by providing assured milk marketing facilities to the rural dairy farmers through organization of Primary Milk Co-operative Societies in the villages and catering to the demand of fresh milk and milk products to the consumers.
As of now, about 27000 No dairy farmers have enrolled their names as the member of Primary Milk Co-operative Societies and supplying milk to MIMUL everyday through 232 no functional Societies. In return, MIMUL has been providing assured milk value to the farmers which has strengthened their backbone to live with dignity.
The continuous support from the Government and NDDB towards animal health services, Artificial insemination, Vaccination, etc and implementation of different schemes like fodder development, Azolla cultivation, clean milk production, Ration Balancing Program, VBMPS, women empowerment, infrastructure development works have motivated the farmers in animal husbandry business. The Government has equipped the Milk Societies with modern milk testing facilities like AMCU (Automatic Milk Collection Unit) to ensure quality milk collection at the society level in transparent manner. Besides, various other plans are under active consideration for the overall development of the milk producers in the future.
You are aware that various products under the brand name “MIMUL” have received incredible response in the market since beginning for its authentic taste and uncompromising quality management. Hence, to meet up the huge demand, MIMUL has started processing of liquid milk at its own Dairy Plant which is set up at Keshiary, Paschim Medinipur with the financial support of Paschimanchal Unnayan Parshad, Govt. of West Bengal. The plant was inaugurated by Mamata Bandyopadhyay, the Hon’ble Chief Minister, West Bengal on 11th February, 2016.
MIMUL is now producing different varieties of liquid milk and milk products like Paneer, Doi, Lassi, Salted Lassi (Chhunch), Milk Peda, etc in addition to its popular MIMUL Cow Ghee. But, the demand of processed milk and milk products has been increasing day by day due to the growth in population, improvement in financial condition and health awareness. With this in mind, MIMUL is going to establish a multi-product modern Dairy Plant at Debra, Paschim Medinipur.
I am sure that the whole hearted dedication, support and cooperation of the dairy farmers and consumers, will help us to reach further heights and achieve our goals towards ensuring maximum benefits to the producer members. We shall continue our efforts to take MIMUL ahead of its peers with the path shown by the visionary leaders in the field.
I believe that this website will not only be beneficial for the producer members and consumers to know about the dairy initiatives taken in Paschim Medinipur and information on MIMUL products availability, but also will disseminate awareness and encourage milk producers to come under the fold of this initiative which will lay the path for greater achievements in future.
Long Live Co-operatives.
